According to Terry Law, in his book "The Power of Praise and Worship," music is mentioned in the Bible over 800 times, singing 287 times, playing of musical instruments 317 times, and praise is mentioned or commanded 332 times. Even God is a singer according to Zephaniah 3:17.

Our God Desires, Demands and Deserves our highest praise. Because of this we pay great attention to what we offer Him and the method in which we offer it. Sunset Avenue has a rich heritage in Music Ministry. We endeavor to fulfill His desire.

We believe that music is a tool God has designed to be used to REACH a lost and dying world. By LIFTING JESUS through music the world is drawn to God.

Ministry Goals:
So what are our responsibilities as worship leaders:

• To give glory and honor to God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit
• To lift up and testify of Jesus (He said, "If I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto me.")
• To inspire the church to worship and praise freely
• To inspire praise and worship by example
• To help create and atmosphere conducive to the flow of the Holy Spirit.
• To lead the congregation in preparing their heart and minds to receive the Word.
• To minister unto the Lord for who He is and what He’s done.
• To minister prophetically the Word of the Lord.
• To lead others to the feet of Jesus that they might know Him better.
• To bring hope, strength and restoration to those in need.
• To be witnesses of the grace and mercy bestowed on us by the Father
• To be a living example of the favor, grace and mercy of Jesus.
• To plow the soil of the heart to receive the incorruptible Seed of the Word.

Requirements for membership:

• You must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
• You must be a regular attendee of scheduled services for a minimum of six months
• You must be a member of Sunset Avenue (You are a leader)
• Transfers or exceptions need to be approved by the Senior Pastor
• An interview with the Music Director and/or Senior Pastor
